Established in 1990, Cataula Veterinary Hospital, P.C. is a full-service small animal veterinary medical facility located in Cataula, Georgia.

Under the stewardship of Dr. Anna Graves and Dr. Fredrick Blackmar, we have grown a clinic known for a high level of care and compassion. We celebrate the extraordinary bond between humans and animals each and every day.

We are proud to serve the Cataula area with personalized veterinary care. Our family-owned clinic and animal hospital is run by Dr. Anna Graves, who is a licensed, experienced Cataula veterinarian. We provide advanced, high quality medical and surgical care while remembering that, above all else, animals should be treated with loving care at every visit

Dr. Anna MacMinn, DVM
Dr. MacMinn (formerly Dr. Graves) graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. Before attending veterinary school, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Columbus State University.
A Cataula native and the daughter of Dr. Blackmar, Dr. MacMinn quite literally grew up at Cataula Veterinary Hospital and has been part of the practice for most of her life. In 2020, she became the owner of Cataula Veterinary Hospital when Dr. Blackmar passed the torch to the next generation.
In October 2025, she was blessed to marry her husband, Ben MacMinn, and gain two wonderful kids, River and Brannon. Their family also includes Rip, a Golden Retriever; Benny, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel; and Lynx, the sweetest tabby cat.
Dr. MacMinn loves being a veterinarian and considers it a privilege to care for the pets and families in the community where she grew up. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys gardening, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.

FREDRICK L. BLACKMAR, DVM

Dr. Blackmar grew up in the community of Cataula attending school in Harris County. He graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelors degree in Chemistry. In 1983 he graduated from University of Georgia Veterinary College. He worked in three different practices in Georgia before returning to Harris County to establish Cataula Veterinary Hospital, P.C. in 1990. He practices all areas of small animal medicine and surgery with an emphasis on soft tissue surgery. His personal life centers around his family and home. He enjoys his own pets, gardening and almost any outdoor activity.

MATT CLARDY, DVM

Dr. Clardy has been a part of Cataula Veterinary Hospital since October 2021. He is originally from Columbus and grew up in Dunwoody, GA. He graduated Veterinary School from the University of Georgia. He also went to UGA for his undergrad studies – he is a dawgs fan through and through. When he is not caring for his patients, he enjoys anything outdoors – yardwork, golf, hiking, and walking to name a few. He currently has one pet of his own – the sweetest mixed dog named Mooch.

Dr. Andrew Philpot, dvm

Dr. Philpot earned both his Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University. After veterinary school, he completed a small animal rotating internship in Atlanta, gaining advanced experience in surgery, internal medicine, and critical care before moving into general practice.

Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Dr. Philpot is passionate about providing high-quality, compassionate care and staying current with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine through continuing education. At home, he’s kept busy by his two dogs, Henry and Evie. Outside the clinic, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, hunting, skiing, and recently celebrated his engagement to his fiancée, Claire.

Mylah B
Mylah Buckner, Practice Manager
Originally from Huntington Beach, California, Mylah spent her early years on the coast before pursuing her studies in science at Golden West College and Biology at Auburn University. She brings a strong clinical foundation to Cataula Veterinary Hospital, backed by extensive experience in human medicine and medical device sales and management.
As Practice Manager, Mylah leverages her healthcare background to ensure high standards of patient care, efficient clinic operations, and strong team support. Outside of work, she stays active paddle boarding, traveling, hunting, and training her two Belgian Malinois, Kali and Tito, alongside her orange tabby, Sarabi.
